The Disability Trust is a community based organisation that has provided a range of disability services in NSW to people with disabilities and their families in the Illawarra for over 30 years.

They have around 300 permanent and casual staff and a network of over 70 workstations. They have a head office in Fairy Meadow and over ten remote sites.

The Trust is committed to upholding the rights of people with disabilities to self determination. To support this vision, The Trust has invested in the IT and communications infrastructure of the organisation to keep up with it's growth. Part of this investment has been a long relationship with Unitech IT Solutions.

Originally Unitech was commissioned to set up a new network for The Trust. A few years later, The Trust relocated and again Unitech delivered the solution for the new offices. The relationship continued with Unitech providing solutions for all of the remote sites including respite homes and group homes. The solution that Unitech provided has enabled The Trust's staff to move around the many sites with a transparent effect on their email access and file access. Most recently, The Trust renovated their premises at Fairy Meadow. Unitech provided all of the cabling and workstations required for the expansion. Also to minimise the impact on the organisation, Unitech set up a temporary office so The Trusts vital services could continue during construction. New phone systems were also installed and it is hoped that these will reduce business costs.

As well as making a decision on price and ongoing support, The Trust has found that Unitech are very "comfortable" to deal with, they provide a very high level of client support and provide a quick turnaround for solutions.
